Yay!
A sunny morning at last! The backyard wildlife is consuming seed and bread crusts, Tiffy is snoring after her morning combfest. I'm off to hunt-and-gather, and prep for a good dinner.

Moldering June
uggggghhhh. Not a clear day in 26 days. I'm surprised the populace has not gone over the edge. The garden is half-hearted at best. The green slime is spreading across the deck. The sheets are damp on the bed. None of this is out of the ordinary for South Carolinians, but Southern New Englanders are not used to this. Dreary. But hey, tomorrow is Saturday! Even if it's clousy it's my day to do as I please!

Bandit!
And all this time we thought the squirrels were eating all the peanuts. Last night, the lid of the Squirrel Lunch Box on the tree was banging continuously... we turned on the light, as most squirrels are tucked in their nests after dark. Sitting on the feeder was a raccoon. Young, I think, as it wasn't as fat as most. But nothing, not even the light or our comments aimed at him would deter him from the peanuts. He scooped every last peanut, and this morning the squirrels were bummed out. Guess we'll have to change the name of the feeder...
